Sexually transmitted infections are becoming increasingly common among sexually active men and women around the world. You can contract a sexually transmitted infection through unprotected sexual intercourse with an infected partner. You can also contract a sexually transmitted infection by sharing your sex toys with an infected partner. Men and women, who have multiple sex partners or frequently change their sex partners, are at a greater risk of contracting sexually transmitted infections as well. Those who have become sexually active at a very young age are at a greater risk of contracting an STI.

Sexually transmitted infections can either be bacterial or viral in nature. Some of the commonly experienced bacterial STIs include chlamydia, ureaplasma urealyticum and gonorrhoea. These bacterial infections are such that they hardly ever show symptoms. Because of this reason, it becomes difficult to diagnose them, which can lead to further health complications. Fortunately, they can be cured completely with the help of antibiotics such as Azithromycin. This pill works towards curing a bacterial infection by inhibiting the multiplication of bacteria in your body.

By inhibiting the multiplication of the bacteria, it also provides your body’s natural defences with enough strength to fight off the bacteria. The ingredients of Azithromycin are absorbed by your body at a faster rate, which means that you can take only one single dosage of the pill. A 1,000mg dosage pill has been proven to be effective for treating sexually transmitted bacterial infections such as chlamydia, ureaplasma urealyticum and gonorrhoea. Some people who are unable to tolerate high dosages of antibiotics can experience side effects such as nausea, vomiting, headaches, an stomach upset, diarrhoea, constipation and dizziness.

For more information on Azithromycin and bacterial STIs; chlamydia, ureaplasma urealyticum and gonorrhoea visit online STI testing clinic STIClinic.co.uk.

Everyone’s going gaga over the latest diet craze being hyped by the media or the newest workout program to hit the fitness scene. New weight loss pills are being introduced one after another and have flooded the market competing for sales. People everywhere seem to be in that “lose the excess pounds” psyche: “Thin is sexy!”. “Lean is hot!”. “Rip those biceps.” “Flaunt your abs.”

Back in the 80′s, Olivia Newton-John popularized the song “Let’s Get Physical” which promoted fitness and about the same time, physical fitness videos by celebrities flooded the market such as the legendary Jane Fonda Aerobics Videos. Even John Travolta’s dance movie, “Staying Alive” capitalized on the fact that the then-emerging star was being mentored by no less than Sylvester Stallone for his physical fitness program to fit the role to a “T”.

In today’s world where survival of the fittest becomes the name of the game, being overweight is considered absolutely unsexy. The message is clear as you see it on tv, billboards, and magazines. Has everyone gone self-conscious? Let’s face it. It’s not just about vanity or feeling good about yourself. It’s about living a healthy lifestyle. The universal need to look and feel sexually desirable just comes secondary. Whether you like it or not, being overweight is unattractive and can pose serious consequences in one’s health condition.

How true is it that for every pound you lose, the more sexually desirable you become? Though there are people who prefer sexual partners who are on the voluptous side, a great number still prefer having the right curves and bulges at the right places. However, being sexually attractive is not the only goal we need to consider. Whether you are a man or a woman, you are responsible to always keep your body in good condition, if not in perfect shape. Losing weight can improve the sexual health of both men and women. The couple becomes more aware of each others new size. Their sexual senses have become more attuned to the sexual stimuli which they receive and therefore increases their sexual pleasure. By having slimmer bodies, both the man and the woman becomes comfortable with their bodies and they tend to enjoy each other better when it comes to their sexual activities, as compared to overweight couples. It is no longer just a physical thing, it becomes an emotional factor.

Obesity and Infertility

It is believed that obesity could greatly affect male sexual health concerning infertility. According to the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS),”overweight men are significantly more likely to be infertile than normal-weight men, and that for every 20-pound body weight gain in men there is a ten per cent increase in infertility.” Though statistics show that women are more prone to obesity that men, still, this clearly shows that men should also take care of their weight for their health’s sake.

On the other hand, obese women are particularly susceptible to increase in blood pressure than their male counterparts. There is also higher risk of cancers such as postmenopausal breast cancer and endometrial cancer, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Body Image and Healthy Weight

For all its worth, men and women alike should maintain an ideal body weight and image. Body image is the way we project ourselves and how we perceive and imagine the response of others. It is not inborn, therefore, we can do something about it. Healthy weight is the size which a person achieves based on the goal initially set in accordance with the person’s physical condition as determined by a medical professional.
People try to find sensible and sustainable ways to achieve and maintain a healthy weight on a long term basis. Maintain a healthy diet, exercise regularly, lead a vice-free lifestyle, and all the good things in life will be added unto you as well.

As adolescents, boys get their information about sexuality and men’s sexual health from their peers. As teens, locker room talk may titillate, but it provides little in the way of accurate information about men’s health issues. Unfortunately, while adult women are likely to seek out information from professionals, men are more reticent to discuss questions about men’s sexual health and men’s health news in general with their doctors or other professionals. When compared to women, they’re also less likely to discuss their concerns with other men. As a result, men are often left to wonder about issues that are common to many men, particularly questions about men’s sexual health.

Luckily, with the explosion of the Internet, a wealth of information has become available that answers men’s questions – anonymously. While there are certainly many bogus sites with misinformation, discerning men are able to find reputable websites that discuss men’s issues or that include a men’s health forum.

Men’s sexual health questions cover a wide range of topics. For example, condoms are widely (and correctly) seen as both a contraceptive and a way of protecting against sexually transmitted diseases. Nonetheless, many men opt not to use condoms. In a men’s health forum, men can get the facts and news about condoms, while also discussing risks, tips, and personal experiences.

Another men’s sexual health topic often covered by a men’s health forum is erectile dysfunction. Despite pharmaceutical advances over the past decade, many men find it embarrassing to discuss this topic with friends or even their physicians. By visiting a reputable online information source, men can find answers to the questions and alleviate their concerns, as well as discovering options for correcting the problem.

Other men’s questions revolve around more general issues, such as how to improve the libido. A forum can address both underlying medical causes, as well as identify lifestyle issues that could impact desire, such as fitness, dieting, and weight management.

Some men’s sexual health questions are very specific. For example, men’s health issues might include abnormal urethra development, the inability to retract the foreskin, Peyronie’s disease, venous leakage, and so forth. Obtaining reliable information online will often encourage men to take the next step and seek care from their medical professionals. Being able to identify and intelligently discuss a problem increases men’s comfort levels in discussing men’s health issues with doctors.

Needless to say, sexually transmitted diseases should be a centerpiece of all discussions about men’s sexual health. There is so much misinformation and sheer ignorance about STDs that men must be able to anonymously access accurate information about HIV/AIDS, gonorrhea, herpes, and syphilis.

A cornerstone of men’s sexual health – and the ability to fully enjoy a sexual relationship – is accurate information. An online men’s health forum is an excellent way to answer men’s questions and concerns, and when necessary, urge them to seek medical attention.

Modern society has adapted a very permissive view of sex that today’s youth are more independent, expressive and liberated when it comes to sexual expression. In this high-tech culture where conventions do not necessarily become the rule, it is important to consider what lies ahead for you and for your loved ones, and how you can protect each other from getting sexually transmitted diseases.
Sexual health is not just the absence of the disease or its dysfunction and infirmities. It is a state of physical, emotional, psychological and social well-being with regards to one’s sexuality. Addressing sexual health issues involves a complex web of factors such as attitude, behavior, genes, environment, and economy. It also deals with sexual health problems such as STD, HIV, pregnancy, abortion, infertility, cancer, and a wide range of sexual dysfunctions. Those who are in a relationship must not consider an infected partner as being unfaithful. One must learn to practice a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships and this can be achieved if the sexual rights of every individual is respected and protected.
As the cliché goes, “looks can be deceiving.” It’s not easy to tell if the person beside you has STD, or other illnesses for that matter, just by the way that person looks and acts. There are STDs that are not accompanied by any obvious signs. Symptoms can be very subtle that the person infected may not even know it. Aside from your regular health check-up, it is very important that you should also take special attention in knowing your own body especially when you are healthy. So that if any changes take place such as skin infections or sores, as well as any unusual discharge or pain while urinating, it will be easier for you to recognize these signs and symptoms because you already know how your body is like when healthy.
Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) are diseases caused by viruses, bacteria and parasites and can easily be transmitted through body contact during sex. There are at least 25 different sexually transmitted diseases which can be spread by sexual contact, including vaginal, anal, and oral sex.
Sometimes, STDs take a long time to display any kind of symptoms. The following are some of the most common STDs that affect sexually active individuals: Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Bacterial Vaginosis, Crabs or Pubic Lice, Epididymitis, Genital Herpes, Genital Warts, Gut Infections, Hepatitis, Molluscum, Non-Specific Urethritis, Scabies, Syphilis, Thrush, Trichomonas Vaginosis, Balanitis.
Sexual health awareness is very important in detecting and treating STD to avoid serious infections which can lead to long-term or permanent damage. Untreated STD may cause infertility and can be passed on from a pregnant mother to her unborn child. STD can be passed onto sexual partners easily and can aid in the transmission of HIV.
Abstinence is the surest thing to avoid STD. But you don’t have to be a killjoy just to be free of the dreaded STD. The practice of safe sex and sexual health awareness can greatly help in minimizing risk from STD. Always use condoms during sexual intercourse or dental dams for oral sex. Make sure to sanitize sex toys before and after use. Observe genital hygiene routines, as well as keep your hands clean at all times. Consult with your professional health care provider for sexual health advice on getting tested for STD.
